Zugspitze-X

This video shows Max Schumann riding from the summit of the Zugspitze down to the Knörrhütte and was filmed in October 2011. Conditions were finally perfect with very stable weather and dry rock. We left the hut at 3am, topped out at 6am and waited for sunrise. Max began his descent at about 7am and just about got to the bottom before any hikers arrived. Some of the very technical sections, such as the rock slab beside the hut and some steep steps lower down were probably ridden for the first time that day.

Filmed using a Panasonic GH2 with lenses,
Panasonic 7-14mm f/4
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Nikkor 85mm f/1.8

Stills were done using a Nikon D700 and lenses,
Nikkor 24mm f/1.4
Nikkor 16mm f/2.8
Nikkor 85mm f/1.8

Intro Music is “Dusty Universe” by Epic Soul Factory Vol.1 and
the rest of the movie is Brad Sucks “Look and Feel Years Younger”.

Karwendel Sunset Ride

Johannes Pistrol rides a fine 2500m peak in the Karwendel, Austria, at the end of November 2011. Unusually late snow fall and dry conditions mean that the alpine riding season just goes on and on. During sunset the whole mountain turned red for 10 minutes, was totally awesome! Song is “Near You” by 10centSunday.

For some reason this video was removed from Vimeo a few weeks ago, no idea why.  It’s back up here now…

Black & White Prints

I’ve been asked over the past months for prints of pics that have either been in magazines, viewed at the Vernissage, or, just seen on the web site.  To make them available for purchase I’ve now placed a couple of them on Whitewall, and, if you like, you can check out the gallery and prices  ->  AlpinePics on WhiteWall
